Sheepmeat Council : Sheepmeat 2015 2016
SHEEPMEAT COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA ANNUAL MUSTER 2015-16 9 the conduit for ensuring efficient and effective levy spending across all service companies through the strategic plan and investment planning meetings led by SCA annually. • S CA has continued to work with the National Residue Survey to ensure that Australian products remain suitable for the consumer (domestic and export). This has included reviewing the auditing process. • In animal health and welfare emphasis has been placed on minimising the cost of endemic diseases and building our capability during an Emergency Animal Disease Response. In 2015/16 the priorities of SCA fall into two main areas – the first is structural, and is about working with industry organisations at the national and state level to resolve funding and structural concerns and the second comes from implementing and delivering the SISP. A goal of the Council for the next 12 months in implementing the SISP 2020 with a framework and consultative model for overseeing the levy spend. This will allow SCA to better communicate to producers where their levy has been spent. SCA will also implement a leadership and capability project for the sheepmeat industry, providing opportunities to producers to become involved in representational leadership, have a greater say on industry issues and the industry’s future direction, including levy expenditure. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff and Councillors for the support I have received during my first year as President. Thank you to Alexander MacLachlan as Vice President and David Boyle as Treasurer. In particular, I would like to thank Ian McColl who finished with SCA in July 2015 and to Kate Joseph who finished in November. Both Ian and Kate are Past Presidents of the organisations and have provided significant input and leadership over the many years they have served on the Council. Thanks also goes to Kat, Judy and Heidi for their continued support and dedication throughout the year. I also welcome Mark Harvey-Sutton and Kathleen Allan to the staff team and look forward to working with them. 1800 146 892 www.electrodip.com The magic eye sheepjetter since 1989 • Quality construction and options • Get the contractor’s choice • Direct from the manufacturer • Efficient application and unequalled cost savings • Unique self adjusting sides Fly OR lice PROblem?
