SHEEPMEAT COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA ANNUAL MUSTER 2015-16 33 INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP The program, which runs from 2015 to 2018, to be led by SCA will: • Increase the knowledge and skills in corporate governance of people working in the sheep industry. • Establish a tailored sheepmeat industry residential training program in leadership to improve leadership skills of people across the sheepmeat industry. • Promote roles in policy development and leadership through networks, stakeholders and related sheep industry conferences and meetings. • Improve the understanding of sheep industry policy issues, corporate governance and strategic policy development of policy officers in the red meat industry and provide an opportunity to apply practical application of the knowledge and skills. • Expose interested producers to the role of policy development and advocacy and improve their understanding of corporate governance and strategy development. • Establish young industry enthusiasts with a global understanding of the sheepmeat industry, markets and the systems that underpin market access through a graduate program. • Through all programs, enhance understanding of the industry’s structures and MLA’s research and marketing outcomes.
