Sheepmeat Council : Sheepmeat 2013
SHEEPMEAT COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA ANNUAL MUSTER 2013 3 SCA is the peak national body representing and promoting the interests of lamb and sheepmeat producers in Australia. The goal of SCA is to deliver outcomes that enhance the integrity, profitability and sustainability of the Australian sheepmeat industry. Nine Directors make up the Council, drawn from State Farmer Organisation (SFO) members. The Directors represent the industry's views at the national level. SCA members are the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF), New South Wales Farmers, Primary Producers South Australia (PPSA), Agforce Queensland (Agforce QLD), Tasmanian Farmers' & Graziers' Association (TFGA), Western Australian Farmers (WAFarmers), and Pastoralists and Graziers Association of Western Australia (PGA of WA). The directors are unpaid and actively engaged in the sheepmeat industry. The Council holds four meetings per year, rotated between SFO member states. The Council is supported by a small staff of four based in National Farmers' Federation House in Canberra, ACT. Valued stakeholders SCA works closely with other organisations to maximize use of limited resources, from undertaking our statutory obligations through to a range of common issues. These organisations include our partners on the Red Meat Advisory Council, Australian Livestock Exporters Council (ALEC), Australian Lot Feeders Association (ALFA), Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) and Cattle Council of Sheepmeat Council of Australia (SCA) was formed in 1979. Australia (CCA), Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Animal Health Australia (AHA) and also WoolProducers of Australia (WPA), LiveCorp and State Farmer Organisations.
